Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began 26 but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith— 27 to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen.

— Romans 16:25-27.

Paul commits the church to God, who is able to establish them through the gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ. He proclaims that the eternal mystery of Christ has been made manifest, and, by the prophetic Scriptures, has been made known to all nations to bring them to obedient faith in Him. This will bring glory to God through Christ, eternally.

A mystery in the Bible is something that would be hidden but for the fact that God has revealed it through His Word. Even when it is so revealed, it contains a huge element outside our natural understanding, or it looks forward to a future event to complete our understanding of the mystery. The mystery referred to here is that Christ has been manifest in the flesh, and is the Saviour of those who trust Him. [The Bible Panorama.]
