“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth — in Him. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.” ~ Ephesians 1:7-11.
We have obtained an eternal inheritance!
“What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?” ~ Romans 9:22-24.
We are the vessels of mercy, prepared for glory!
God has given us access to the riches of His grace in Christ Jesus. We are the recipient of “unsearchable riches” (Ephesians 3:8). As far as our physical health, finances, careers, and possessions are concerned, these are all “uncertain” and we are not to set our hopes on them, but to set our hopes on God (1 Timothy 1:17). If we know what we have in Christ, then His grace will be sufficient for us; even in the midst of poverty and trials (2 Corinthians 12:9).
“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.” ~ Colossians 3:1-4.
Disregarding temporary worldly riches, let us set our minds on Christ our life as we eagerly anticipate this glorious event!
