The LORD’s Invitation

Come-246x175

Call of GOD

“I have stretched out My hands all day long to a rebellious people.” – Isaiah 65:2

But to Israel he says:
All day long I have stretched out My hands
To a disobedient and contrary people.” – Romans 10:21.

Call of Wisdom

Because I have called and you refused,
I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded. – Proverbs 1:24.

Call of Jesus

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” -– Matthew 11:28-30.

But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. -– John 5:40.

Israel, God’s preferred nation (people) chose to reject Him and His call.

He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. – John 1:11.

However, a remnant of the children of Israel and many from other nations (Gentiles) did seek Him and respond to His call.

“I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am,’ To a nation that was not called by My name. – Isaiah 65:1.

But Isaiah is very bold and says:
I was found by those who did not seek Me;
I was made manifest to those who did not ask for Me.” – Romans 10:20.

These have been given great privileges! The same privileges are available to all who would respond to the LORD’s call.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. – John 1:12-13.

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. – Galatians 3:26-29.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. – Romans 8:14-17.

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. – Galatians 4:6, 7.

We who have responded to and accepted His invitation are in Christ. We are now God’s children. What a special privilege it is to call God “our Father”! As His children, He has given us a new home in His family. We are all one in Christ Jesus. As children we are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. If we suffer with Him because we belong to Him, we will also be glorified together with Him at His appearing.

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.-1 John 3:2,3.

And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. – Revelation 22:17.
